Can you multiply a fraction by a whole number?

a) 8 x 5/9      b) 21 x 5/7      c)  18 x 8/9    d) 5 x 2/3   e)  7 x 3/4

  1. How you work a out is the whole number will just times by the numerator and the denominator will stay the same.
    8×5/9=40/9. 9 divided by 40=4/9 (the denominator will stay the same)
    The same will be for the other four.
    21×5/7=105/7
